Fantastic Vision from Outsider Artists
A visit to the current “Eloquent Visions: Outsider and Visionary Art” exhibition at the Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham is an absolute must if you have any inerest in Outsider Art or Art Brut.
The exhibitions showcases works from a variety of artists including Adolf Wolfli, Scottie Wilson, Edward Monsiel and schizophrenic cat artist Louis Wain. My personal favourites are the detailed large-scale works by Vonn Stropp.
A fantastic and inspiring exhibitions of stunning works from artists whose commitment has nothing to do with making money or becoming a celebrity. Untaught artists with fantastic vision, imagination and skill.

A great exhibition – Highly recommended. Some fantastic works from these artists, many who have had mental health issues. Truly stunning pieces.

Many of the artists are from the Gugging institute in Vienna – Worth a look if you are interested in this form of under appreciated art.

Not really a duck-art fanatic… but the way I see it, I can appreciate the creativity of the one who did this. WTG.

I’m a great lover of folk art, raw and basic art for arts sake and not for money. The Henry Boxer gallery is worth checking out if you are interested. My favourite artist right now is Madge Gill. Beautiful yet disturbing black and white drawings from someone who had a traumatic and turbulent life.
